All web pages have to have an "about me" section, so here's mine.
My name is Dan Byron, and I am now 20 years old! Ive been learning karate for roughly 3 years, 2 of those with Kenshukai. I first got involved in karate for the self defence aspect, but am now reaping the benefits of the fitness, confidence boosting and social aspects. I was Sempai at the Bromley dojo (England - Region 15) for a while, under Sensei Fran, who pushed me to get my green belt, which I did in July 2001. In October 2001 I left for University in Durham, and unfortunately Kenshukai hasnt reached this far north yet so haven't trained since. I occasionally fit in a spot of exercise with the local Shotokan, Shotokai, or Shorinji Kempo clubs up here, but they aren't really to my taste. With no disrespect to any of the clubs Ive visited, I am pleased to report that Kenshukai is one of the strongest and most disciplined styles I have ever seen. Recent politics aside, if you want to learn karate, Kenshukai is the place to be. Having just handed my dissertation in, I have 2 months left before I return home and can start training again, and I cant wait! Hopefully I can then start working on this site again, hurrah!
In the meantime, if you have any questions you would like to ask, you can now pester me about stuff in several ways. Feel free to drop us a line and just talk about training, how bad the site is or any suggestions you can think of etc. More importantly, please send in relevent material to be posted. If I cant help you, I'll go and pester someone who can :)
